UAE's Transport Sector To Transform Into The Most Innovative In The World
Mobility eco-systems for a sustainable future in focus at the 5th edition of the International Future Mobility Conference
Under the patronage of H.E. Eng. Sultan Bin Saeed Al Mansoori, Minister of Economy – ESMA Chairman of Board of Directors. The two days’ conference organised by the Emirates Authority for Standardization and Metrology (ESMA), will be held on 26 – 27 November 2019 at the Grand Hyatt, Dubai, The conference supported by numerous strategic partners from the federal and local governments.
As major technological developments including big data, artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things and the emergence of new alternate forms of energy is set to radically transform the transportation sector, mobility ecosystems for a sustainable future takes centre stage at the 5th installment of the International Future Mobility Conference.

Announcing the launch of the 5th edition of the International Conference on Future Mobility, H.E. Abdulla Abdulqader Al Maeeni, Director General of the Emirates Authority for Standardization and Metrology (ESMA) said that “transportation is one of the UAE’s targeted National Innovation Strategy sectors and sustainable transport systems
”Technological advancements and new mobility solutions are leading to a very different mobility ecosystem in the future. It is critical for mobility solutions providers to anticipate the future trends, challenge the robustness of current business models and question whether future evolutions are being correctly foreseen“, Al Maeeni said.
“The UAE has already been a test bed for electric vehicle battery developers, hydrogen fuel cell vehicles and autonomous vehicles, and as regulators, we at ESMA are constantly working towards developing the required frameworks for the sound introduction of new mobility solutions and support sustainable innovation.“
“We are also delighted to work callously with academic sector and universities in UAE at the conference this year which will supporting research undertaken by Universities across the region in sustainable mobility, development of supporting infrastructure and digital innovation in mobility”, Al Maeeni said.

The Emirates Authority for Standardization and Metrology (ESMA) is the federal authority approved by the United Arab Emirates to exercise administrative responsibilities by unifying management, supervision and coordination of standards, regulations, and quality control. The Authority's policy is drawn up by a board of directors headed by a UAE minister and includes representatives of the relevant federal and local government entities.
