The UAE Government announced its participation in the upcoming World Economic Forum on the Middle East and North Africa, MENA.

Taking place in Jordan on 6th and 7th April, the forum will see the participation of 1,000 government leaders, economists and business people from more than 50 countries, to discuss the impact of new technologies, climate change, and other challenges in the region.

The UAE delegation includes Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, Minister of Climate Change and Environment; Omar bin Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence; Ahmed Ali Al Sayegh, Minister of State; Abdullah bin Touq, Secretary-General of the UAE Cabinet; Khalfan Belhoul, Chief Executive Officer of Dubai Future Foundation, and Tarek Al Gurg, Chief Executive Officer at Dubai Cares.

The World Economic Forum on MENA is held this year under the theme, 'Building Platforms of Cooperation'. The UAE delegation will take part in ten key sessions on innovation, start-ups, environment, open data, energy, and future jobs and skills.

The UAE Government's participation reflects its commitment to engaging in regional and global dialogue, extending bridges of cooperation and contributing actively to global efforts to bring about positive change in the future of the people.

The World Economic Forum on the Middle East and North Africa provides an opportunity for governments to take advantage of the tools of artificial intelligence and the fourth industrial revolution, 4IR, and to use them in vital sectors that affect the lives of people and the future of humanity.

The forum is also an important regional platform for establishing economic partnerships and encouraging initiatives that enhance the business environment and economic diversification.

The UAE is an important partner of the World Economic Forum, and is the host of the Annual Meetings of the Global Future Councils. The strategic partnership between the UAE Government and the World Economic Forum extends to a decade-long of achievements, fruitful cooperation and shared visions to build a better future for the people.
