Mums@Work Rebrands To Women@Work To Support All Female Professionals In UAE

Women@Work seeks to connect leading firms with top talent while helping women break through glass ceiling

Mums@Work, the first company in the Middle East dedicated to helping women in the workplace, has been re-branded to Women@Work. The change reflects the organisation’s expanding mandate to support women’s career progression and champion gender inclusivity in the UAE, whilst continuing to support mothers through flexible roles.

The rebranding enables Women@Work to support the UAE Gender Balance Council’s goal of enhancing the role of women in the country. Women@Work offers professional women access to a wide range of job opportunities, training courses, career coaches and networking events. Women@Work will act as a diversity recruitment partner for businesses across all levels and sectors.

Active engagement of women in the workplace has a proven positive impact on the economy. According to a report by the McKinsey Global Institute, achieving equality in the workplace can add up to US$12 trillion to the global economy by 2025. The UAE is already well on track to becoming one of the world’s top 25 counties for gender equality by 2021.

Louise Karim, Managing Director of Women@Work, said: “The rebranding represents a significant step in the company’s evolution. While our organisation initially focused on mothers looking for flexible roles or seeking to re-enter the workplace, we realised that there is a sizeable population of professional women in all stages of their careers that are looking for support. We are therefore expanding our services to include all women – from dynamic fresh graduates looking to find their place in the job market to experienced professionals aspiring to take their careers to the next level. While we will continue to support the mothers in our network with flexible job opportunities, our new offering will also provide our broader female community with exciting job opportunities, events, access to courses and coaches that allow them to grow professionally and expose them to a world of opportunities.”

She added: “In 2019 a record number of Fortune 500 companies were led my women, though at 33 female CEO’s out of the 500 there is still a long way to go. We have witnessed an increased desire by leading companies to hire more females for senior management positions. In fact, studies have shown that a company’s net margin is directly related to the proportion of women in its leadership. The more women are at the top, the more profitable a company is.  We therefore want to act as a key player by helping bring talent to the private and public sector. In doing this, Women@Work seeks to play a significant role in advancing the UAE’s women empowerment agenda whilst enabling female professionals to achieve their career goals.”

As part of their continued commitment to championing gender diversity in the region Women@Work are launching a series of events for senior professionals to create learning, knowledge sharing and networking opportunities. The first session kicks off on 30 September 2019 with the goal of identifying on how to create an inclusive and gender diverse workplace by driving discussions into actions across business to overcome internal challenges.

Since its inception in 2016, Women@Work has helped thousands of women to upskill and find the perfect role. With client partners including leading companies, such as Bloomberg, EY and Aramex and 80,000+ women in the community Women@Work are keen to support more businesses in finding female talent for their business.
