MoHAP And OIC Discuss Means Of Enhancing Relations In Health Field
HE Dr. Amin Hussein Al Amiri, Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health and Prevention’s (MoHAP’s) Public Health Policy and Licenses met recently with HE Ambassador Askar Musinov, Assistant Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to explore means of enhancing relations in the health field.
The meeting was held at MoHAP headquarters in the presence of Dr. Issa Al Mansouri, Director of the Undersecretary Office and Director of the International Health Relations.
At the outset, Dr. Al Amiri welcomed Musinov and congratulated him on assuming his new post, wishing him all the best and success.
Al Amiri hailed the OIC’s endeavors in strengthening the concerted efforts in the health field, pointing to the UAE’s health system efficiency and its high competitive ranks in the global health indicators, thanks to the flexible legislative environment, and the comprehensive and innovative health services based on modern technologies, in addition to the development of the preventive system and pharmaceutical sector.
He shed light on the vital issues the OIC adopts including; Women's health, maternal and newborn health, how to resist communicable diseases such as AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria, cooperation to eradicate polio and provision of vaccines against various diseases, medical technologies, a healthy lifestyle and prevention of communicable and non-communicable diseases, emergencies and disasters.
In turn, HE Ambassador Askar Musinov highlighted the importance of the meeting to enhance relations in the health field and follow up the pillars that will be addressed in the next edition of the Seventh Conference of Health Ministers Members of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation chaired by the UAE for two years.
Musinov commended the UAE’s role in bolstering the OIC’s strategic policies and plans, in particular, the OIC Strategic Program of Action for Health 2014-2023.
