Mohammed Bin Suroor Inaugurates The 4th Edition Of The National Service Career Fair

The event aims at securing the professional and educational future of the cadets after they complete the national service program.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Suroor bin Mohammed Al Nahyan Inaugurated earlier today the 4th edition of the National Service Career Fair (NSCF), an event organized by the UAE Armed Forces, represented by the National Service and Reserve Authority, in collaboration with INDEX Conferences and Exhibitions – a member of INDEX Holding, in participation with a number of public and private institutions and runs from 13-15 October 2019 at Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC). The event aims at securing the professional and educational future of the cadets after they complete the national service program.

Following the opening ceremony, Sheikh Mohammed bin Suroor toured the exhibition area and had a look at the different participating pavilions where he was briefed about the job opportunities offered to the participants and learned about the activities and work of the participating organizations and companies and their endeavor to facilitate the recruitment procedures for national service recruits. The inauguration was attended by a number of senior officers of the General Command of the UAE Armed Forces and senior officials of the participating bodies.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Suroor expressed his appreciation and admiration for what the participating companies have to offer for young people to serve their country, praising the wise leadership of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and their fellow High Council members for their continuous efforts to provide job opportunities for the UAE citizens.

He stressed that this exhibition is held following the strong belief of the General Command of the UAE Armed Forces national responsibility towards its citizens as they are the key pillars to a developed country. He also called upon the participating institutions to effectively contribute in providing the best job opportunities for the graduates and help them develop themselves to find the jobs that best suit them and help in serving their country.

In the 4th edition, the exhibition features an educational pavilion where Al Ain University, Zayed University, Abu Dhabi Vocational Education and Training Institute, and Skyline University College were among the participants.

During its first day, the fair attracted a number of key figures and officials who were briefed about the services provided by the participating companies to the recruits and all the vacancies they provide. In addition, the exhibition witnessed various activities and workshops including a workshop presented by Flip World under the title “Future thinking skills Using the General Framework of the Future”. Which focused on the future planning, its benefits, the future approaches used in future planning and the difference between them, as well as the planning using the future framework approach, and examples of companies and institutions that have succeeded in planning their future.

Furthermore, Dubai Police General Headquarters held a workshop titled "Sharing a Functional Experience" that highlighted some experiences and the skills to be a successful leader.

In addition to that, Erada Center participated in the 1st day of the National Service Career Fair 2020, with an awareness workshop about the effects of drug addiction. The workshop emphasized that drug addiction is a disease and it has 4 aspects that gets affected which are the physiological, psychological, social and spiritual. This came as part of the Center's vision and strategy; to raise awareness in the community about the dangers of addiction.

On the other hand, the second day will feature a day-long workshop by Youth 101, which will focus on youth fundamentals, academic competence and future skills.

The National Service Career Fair is a comprehensive platform that enables all current recruits to meet with employers who are interested in recruiting those who have finished their national service program. While the National Service and Reserve Authority will provide them with all the necessary support and facilitate their recruiting procedures.

While the government and private entities also expressed their full readiness to provide job opportunities and scholarships to the national service recruits, with the aim of attracting the talented graduates of the national service who have a high sense of responsibility and discipline which was instilled in them while performing their national service program.
