Mohammed Bin Rashid Library Theatre Welcomes Over 600 Attendees At Al Rahbani Musical Evening

To celebrate the enduring legacy of the Al Rahbani Brothers and their iconic influence on Arab culture, the Mohammed Bin Rashid Library hosted the event "Musical Theater: The Rahbani Theatre as a Model." The event attracted over 600 art and music enthusiasts, highlighting the profound impact of the Rahbani Brothers on the region’s cultural and artistic landscape.

The evening began with an enriching panel discussion, featuring His Excellency Yasser Al-Gergawi, Chairman of the Dubai National Theatre, alongside Marwan Rahbani, renowned writer, producer, and composer. The conversation delved into how the Rahbani Brothers revolutionized Arab musical theatre, combining music, poetry, and theatrical performance in a way that reshaped the cultural scene.

The panel touched on key topics such as the origins of musical theatre in the Arab world, Lebanon's influence on the Rahbani Brothers' unique style, and the pivotal milestones in their extraordinary artistic careers.

In honor of the centenary of Mansour Rahbani’s birth, the evening also included a special screening showcasing a collection of iconic photos and videos from the Rahbani Brothers' theater productions, offering attendees a nostalgic glimpse into their groundbreaking works.

The event culminated with a captivating performance by the Sharqiyat choir, which transported the audience through an artistic journey celebrating the Rahbani Theatre. The choir beautifully performed some of Fairouz’s most cherished songs—works that are considered milestones in the history of Arabic music.
