MEEZA joins hands with Qatar government to expand MAWARED platform

The Ministry of Transportation and Communications (MoTC) has signed an agreement with MEEZA to develop and expand the second phase of MAWARED, the government's Human Resource planning transformation system, continuing its pioneering efforts to digitally transform the country with state of the art technology services. The platform which is implemented and operated under the supervision of the Ministry of Administrative Development, Labor and Social Affairs (ADLSA), caters to many government entities.

The agreement is considered the latest addition to the joint cooperation between MEEZA and the government of the State of Qatar to automate Human Resources processes and procedures. Moreover, it expands the information technology infrastructure to include all the requirements of government entities, in light of the tremendous technological development and digital transformation currently underway in the State of Qatar.

MAWARED is a unified e-platform that leverages leading-edge technology in Human Capital Management (HCM) to manage government human resources, as part of the Qatar Digital Government Strategy. The platform will allow the Ministry of Administrative Development Labour and Social Affairs (ADLSA) to develop, run and manage applications easily, without the complexity of building or maintaining the infrastructure  needed while aiding  government entities in building their workforce capabilities and promoting HR services through a fully integrated, centralised database.

Commenting on the collaboration, Ms. Mashael Al Hammadi, Acting Assistant Undersecretary for Information Technology Affairs at the Ministry of Transport and Communications, stated :

“MAWARED is at the centre of Qatar’s strategic i-Government programme that integrates information systems to meet the needs of our growing tech-based society. With MEEZA on board, we benefit from a range of prominent end-to-end Managed IT Services & Solutions that include the latest softwares which is essential to the development of the MAWARED application.”

Ms. Farha Muhanna Al-Kuwari, Human Resources Information Systems Centre Director at the Ministry of Administrative Development, Labor and Social Affairs stated:

“We are very proud of the progress and achievements taking place within the State’s digital transformation plan as it proceeds at a steady pace, carrying the hopes and aspirations of our people for a better future supported by the latest technological innovations in line with Qatar National Vision 2030. It is expected that the development of the MAWARED platform will invite many other government agencies to join, which will promote their performance and enhance their capabilities to manage human resources more efficiently, providing easier access to data, and thus increasing efficiency, productivity and transparency."

Eng. Ahmad Abdulla Al-Muslemani, CEO of MEEZA added:

“MEEZA continues to trailblaze the path towards full digital transformation in support of our country’s prominent objectives. With this new agreement, we enable end users to  leverage the pioneering MAWARED platform, one of the core tenets of the Gov digital transformation programs, connect better with its workforce and digitize its interactions with various stakeholders. Technology is the key to the success of our nation and our future. MEEZA’s long track record in providing similar government-type services accelerates the achievement of such technological initiatives related to software and hardware platforms, data centres and cloud priorities .”

The agreement comes within ongoing government efforts to digitize the human resource system MAWARED. MEEZA is fully committed to providing support to the government in developing this system, based on its vast experience in the field of information technology. Moreover, the agreement will introduce new technologies to the market that were previously not available in Qatar and the region, creating greater opportunities for tech-based development. Additionally, it aims to facilitate the digital transformation for various government entities looking to adopt  the platform in the future.

MEEZA, a Qatar Foundation venture, is committed to accelerating the digital growth of Qatar through the provision of world-class Managed IT Services and Solutions. The development of MAWARED falls in line with this commitment, taking the country closer to achieving the objectives that are outlined in the Qatar National Vision 2030. As part of the Qatar Digital Government Strategy, the new capabilities are geared at building an efficient workforce, forging effective institutions, curating a vibrant labour market, and fostering a cohesive and productive society. Most importantly, the strategy focuses on ensuring access to information technology that is fast and reliable, has reduced operational and capital expenditures; creates efficiency in government administration and maximises opportunities, making better use of public funds.
