ManageEngine Joins Ranks Of "Providers That Matter Most" In Enterprise Service Management, Unified Endpoint Management
Independent Research Firm Cites ServiceDesk Plus for Ease of Use; Finds Desktop Central "Excels in Traditional and Modern Device Management"
ManageEngine, the IT management division of Zoho Corp., today announced that Forrester Research, a leading global research and advisory firm, has recognized the company as one of the “providers that matter most” in enterprise service management (ESM) and unified endpoint management (UEM). The Forrester Wave™: Enterprise Service Management, Q4 2019, cites ease of use as a strength of ServiceDesk Plus. Meanwhile, The Forrester Wave™: Unified Endpoint Management, Q4 2019, states that Desktop Central “excels in traditional and modern device management.”
The two Forrester Wave reports identify and evaluate the providers that matter most in ESM and UEM, helping infrastructure and operations (I&O) pros make their product selections. The two technologies are increasingly significant as more organizations look to ESM to improve overall user experience and productivity, while also looking to UEM to manage and secure exploding endpoint populations. ManageEngine is one of only three vendors with solutions in both reports.
“We believe Forrester’s recognition is an honor and a confirmation of our position as a premier provider of IT management software for every requirement,” said Rajesh Ganesan, vice president at ManageEngine. “With ServiceDesk Plus, any organization can quickly take proven, IT service management functions and best practices and extend them to all departments. With Desktop Central, they can centralize the management and security for all of their servers, desktops and mobile devices. And organizations that use both solutions will enjoy synergies that expand their ESM and UEM capabilities.”
ManageEngine Recognition in Forrester Wave reports
ManageEngine has tuned ServiceDesk Plus to be an ideal starting point for organizations embracing ESM. According to the Forrester ESM Wave report, “ManageEngine’s strength lies in its ease of use. From portal configuration to workflow creation to integration into other systems, customers report the ability [to] get it up and running in minutes. …ServiceDesk Plus is a good fit for organizations looking to rapidly build out basic service management capabilities at a manageable cost.”
With Desktop Central, the company seeks to provide one of the strongest UEM solutions in the market for client management of various OS and device types. Forrester notes in its UEM Wave report, “ManageEngine excels in traditional and modern device management. …ManageEngine has a strong solution for client management of ChromeOS, macOS, and Windows 10, featuring granular patching capabilities that include third-party patch management, legacy software deployment and a unique OS deployer that enables fast imaging irrespective of the hardware. The solution also has native vulnerability management and browser security.”
As digital transformation drives technology deeper into every business function, the contextual integration of ServiceDesk Plus and Desktop Central offer distinct advantages to organizations that use both solutions. For instance, the integration of ManageEngine’s UEM and ESM functions enables seamless device provisioning and other user on-boarding activities whereby IT, HR, Facilities and other departments work together on a single request. Likewise, Facilities teams can maintain IoT device inventories and act on them through ESM portals.
With its UEM and ESM solutions, ManageEngine software has now placed in three recent Forrester Wave reports. Previously, the company’s privileged account management solution, Password Manager Pro, was included in The Forrester Wave™: Privileged Identity Management, Q4 2018. In that report, Forrester recognized ManageEngine among vendors with "a thought-leading, productized portfolio of products and services. We included PIM vendors that demonstrated native security thought leadership and native security solution strategy execution by regularly updating and improving their productized product portfolio.”
