HH Sayyida Basma Al Said: "Your story is worthy. You are influencing others even at a very young age."
Clinical Counsellor and Clinical Hypnotherapist for the Sultanate of Oman, Her Highness Sayyida Basma Al Said, provided her insights into being an influencer and driver for positive change at Global Women’s Forum Dubai (GWFD) 2020 today. HH explored the importance of mindfulness and mental health for people of all ages by using storytelling as a method of communicating, leading and influencing others, during a breakout session held at the Forum’s Society Hub.
GWFD 2020, which is taking place in Dubai, UAE, under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates, and Ruler of Dubai, will conclude on 17 February.
HH Sayyida Basma Al Said, said: “We are not going to take the road that everybody takes. Let us dare to be different. To use the word dare is very important, and I started with this dare. I wanted to make a difference in people and in their emotional side. I wanted to help them.”
The session emphasised the value of mental health and the positive changes that can be made in people’s lives. HH shared her story as a passionate young learner who wanted to study the mind and make a difference in her society. She dared to be different by telling her personal stories and sharing the life-changing and inspirational experiences of those around her to influence the way they think, behave and speak.
HH Sayyida Basma Al Said, added: “I’m going to give you my secret recipe and add whatever works for you. My main ingredients are passion, creativity, purpose and being mindful.”
Global Women’s Forum Dubai 2020 is organised by Dubai Women Establishment, which is led by Her Highness Sheikha Manal bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, President of the UAE Gender Balance Council and wife of HH Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs.

Al Said ended her session by highlighting how through being positive and leading a healthy mental life with her four secret ingredients, she hopes to one day inspire others to follow and create their own methods to take control of their thoughts, emotions and actions.
