EPAA Organises Two Adoption Days
With 45 cats and dogs from Sharjah Cat & Dog Shelter
On Friday and Saturday, the Environment and Protected Areas Authority (EPAA) held Adoption Days at Sharjah Cat & Dog Shelter. With a veterinarian, two administrative staff and four pet handlers in attendance, twenty-five cats and twenty dogs were available for adoption; pet supplies were provided by shops.
HE Hana Saif Al Suwaidi, EPAA Chairperson, said, “EPAA introduces various groups and members of society to Sharjah Cat & Dog Shelter’s role and efforts. The Shelter accepts stray cats and dogs; it has a clinic and the animals benefit from being kept in suites rather than cages.”
Mrs Al Suwaidi explained that the Shelter cares for the animals, providing them with appropriate food and medical care. It aims to develop an animal welfare program that will encourage the ethical treatment of animals and provide information about their requirements.
