Empower Celebrates Emirati Women's Day And Stresses Its Role For Women's Empowerment
Emirates Central Cooling Systems Corporation (Empower), the world's largest district cooling services provider, confirmed its commitment towards women’s empowerment, particularly in the district cooling sector, by providing the necessary support and jobs that are commensurate with their nature and interests. This comes in line with the importance of observing Emirati Women's Day, and reaffirming the company’s pioneering role in building a bright future for the coming generations.
As part of celebrating the Emirati Women’s Day, which falls on August 28, Empower’s female employees took part in an event entitled ‘Women are the symbol of tolerance’ held at the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry, which included special sessions and an exhibition.
In the context of celebrating Emirati Women's Day and as part of its efforts to support women globally, Empower in partnership with Etihad Airways, took part in a new Emirati initiative for the female refugees in Jordan, Lebanon and Greece. The initiative began in July and lasted until August, where it aimed to collect 5,000 abayas, to be distributed to the females in the refugee camps of these countries.
“We are proud that Emirati women are influential partners in the driving development of UAE and have become strong local and global competitors, due to their creativity and achievements in all sectors and disciplines,” said Ahmad Bin Shafar, CEO of Empower.
“Empower strives to empower women by contributing to the National Strategy for Empowerment of Emirati Women 2015-2021, which aims for women economic empowerment and entrepreneurship. It also aims to involve women in the sustainable development process, which stems from the belief of their influential role in society,” added Bin Shafar.
“We are always working to open many fields and specializations, which contribute to the empowerment of Emirati women, and provide them with the expertise and necessary qualifications to lead many of their projects, in line with the vision of our wise leadership, and to support them as our partners in the society,” noted Bin Shafar.
Bin Shafar stressed that Empower pays great attention to the training and development of employees, especially for female Emirati employees, through an annual agenda which aims to enhance their professional performance and productivity levels, and empower them in various departments and disciplines within the company.
