Emirates Institute For Banking And Financial Studies Celebrates Graduation Of 130 Banking Professionals
Emirates Institute for Banking and Financial Studies (EIBFS), a regional leader in banking and finance education and training, celebrated the graduation of its latest batch of 130 Emirati students enrolled in EIBFS' specialized courses, including the Masrafi National Development Program, Al Shamil and Certified Banking Operations (CBO).
The graduates represented nine local banks, including Sharjah Islamic Bank, Bank of Sharjah, Citibank, United Arab Bank, Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank, First Abu Dhabi Bank, Ajman Bank, Bank of Baroda and Union National Bank. The graduation ceremony at the Institute's headquarters in Dubai International Academic City (DIAC) drew the presence of His Excellency Jamal Al Jassmi, General Manager of EIBFS, His Excellency Hesham Al Qassim, Chairman of EIBFS, and other board members.
Over the years, through hosting specialized courses and workshops relevant to the sector, EIBFS has been at the forefront of promoting and facilitating Emiratization and upskilling national human resources in the banking sector.
Congratulating the graduates, His Excellency Hesham Al Qassim said: "We are extremely proud of our graduates and firmly believe that Emirati banking professionals will bring a unique perspective to the banking and financial services sector. EIBFS has consistently aimed to offer a best-in-class banking education to young Emirati banking aspirants, the local and regional banks realizing the value they bring and increasingly hiring local talent to ensure they stay up-to-speed in meeting the requirements of the fast-paced sector. Our efforts are well aligned with the UAE leadership's vision to build and encourage local talent."
His Excellency Jamal Al Jassmi said: "Today, EIBFS offers professional educational programs in the banking and finance sector that support the government's Emiratization policies and aim to accelerate the learning process in banks for young Emirati professionals through performance-related training. The programs are well-recognized internationally as well as locally by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research."
"The graduation ceremony underscores the efforts of the Institute in qualifying and building the competencies of our local workforce to meet the evolving needs of the banking sector. In line with the objectives of the UAE Vision 2021, we are developing academic and vocational programs to meet the requirements of the local labor market of the future," he added.
With its comprehensive training courses in the field of finance and banking, including Islamic finance, EIBFS is at the forefront of advanced financial education and capacity-building. The Institute has partnered with specialist training and technology solutions providers in the USA and Europe to empower finance professionals with cutting-edge skills.
EIBFS's 2019 annual training plan focuses on techno-functional skills, featuring 13 courses on Fintech, Digital, Blockchain, AI, IoT, Cybersecurity and Business Analytics, among other areas.
