Dubai Supreme Council of Energy organizes a roadshow of the Emirates Energy Award 2020 in Kuwait
The Award aims to showcase power efficiency and environmental conservation initiatives on an international stage
The Dubai Supreme Council of Energy held a press conference (12 November 2019) in Kuwait, to highlight the fourth edition of the Emirates Energy Award 2020, organized under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, under the theme ‘Inspiring Innovation for Sustainable Energy’. As part of the Council's strategy, the aim is to encourage innovative ideas from individuals and research centres, as well as public and private sector institutions to participate in the forthcoming award.
The press conference was attended by Mr. Faisal Ali Rashid, Director DSM Dubai Supreme Council of Energy, Mr. Nasser Al Shaiba, Director HSEQ & Climate Change, Supreme Council of Energy and Mr. Ali Al Suwaidi, Vice Chairman of EEA Marketing and Events. Representatives of the UAE Embassy in Kuwait were also in attendance among senior officials from Kuwait’s energy industry and representatives from relevant universities, research centres and institutions concerned with renewable energy technologies.
The press conference witnessed great interaction by the audience interested in better understanding the details of the award and categories and how to participate. Representatives of the Council highlighted the importance of the Emirates Energy Award in supporting and honoring the best energy conservation practices implemented, that are considered innovative while characterized by being low-cost alternative and renewable energy solutions.
Emirates Energy Award is a leading international platform for various public and private sector organizations, research centers and innovators to learn about the latest technology, solutions and energy technology. It also aims to serve as a forum to share insights and experiences in the development and application of energy projects that reduce the negative impacts of climate change and carbon emissions. Within its 10 categories, the award recognizes and encourages various stakeholders in leading the way in the development of cutting-edge technologies that rationalise the use of energy and renewable energy resources.

The Award’s fourth edition has 10 categories, awarding excellence in: Energy Efficiency-Public Sector (Gold, Silver & Bronze) Energy Efficiency - Private Sectors (Gold, Silver & Bronze); Large Energy Projects (Gold, Silver & Bronze); Small Energy Projects (Gold, Silver & Bronze); Connecting Solar Power to Buildings Project for Large Projects (more than 500 KW); Connecting Solar Power to Buildings Project for Small Projects (less than 500 KW); Education and Capacity Building Award (Gold, Silver & Bronze); Applied Research and Product Development Award (Gold, Silver & Bronze); Young Professional Energy Award (Gold, Silver & Bronze); and the Special Recognition Award for an outstanding contributor to the energy sector.
