The Dubai Government Workshop (DGW) signed an agreement with Mohammed bin Rashid School of Government (MBRSG) to help implement the Executive Leaderships Programme launched to unify all national efforts that promote investment in government leadership according to UAE Vision 2021.
The agreement includes the implementation of the leadership development program designed to train the country’s future leaders through an integrated system of educational, research, and study initiatives in line with the UAE’s march towards government excellence. The 2018-2019 program includes eight main topics. Some of these subjects are development of staff skills in the leadership and supervisory categories; capacity enhancement in government management; adoption of effective policies; development of staff skills in facing challenges and raising competitiveness level; influence of employee leaders on their teams; and team direction towards the desired results.
H.E. Humaid Sultan Al Mutaiwee, Dubai Government Workshop (DGW) CEO, said: "The agreement represents an effective partnership between DGW and MBRSG as we both aim to help make our nationals become productive members of society for the UAE’s future. This is in line with the vision of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to develop the leadership skills and competencies of our citizens and engage them in human capacity building within existing government frameworks. This is our response to the directives of our wise leaders to establish a government of the future, continue our march towards progress, and achieve the objectives of UAE Vision 2021.”
He also stressed the importance of establishing effective partnerships with various government agencies to ensure stronger national leaders; encouraging dialogue and communication among leaders; developing an interactive environment for communication and exchange of experiences; learning about the best practices in leadership and management; and achieving the objectives of the Dubai Government.
Dr. Ali Sebaa Al Marri, Executive President of Mohammed Bin Rashid School of Government, said: “Our strategic partnership with DGW will pave the way for more investments in human capital capabilities and competencies in the emirate in line with the directives of our wise leadership. Our leaders aim to upgrade the work system in the government sector by creating a conducive environment for business incubators and innovators as well as to empower our citizens and develop their leadership capabilities to carry out their tasks and ensure efficiency in the government.”
He added: "The Executive Leaderships Programme - the result of this strategic partnership - is a new step in building the capacity of our future leaders based on modern methodology that will enhance strategic thinking, drive change, anticipate the future, and foster a culture of creativity.
