Daily By Talabat 30-Minute Delivery Encourages New Ordering Habits, Insights Show
Free 30-minute delivery encourages customers to stay at home and stay safe and consume healthier options.
Data from Talabat, the region’s leading food and grocery delivery application, has shown that consumer ordering trends have been redefined due to the unprecedented times caused by COVID-19. The insights come from the delivery platform, Daily by Talabat, which promises free, 30 minute delivery of affordable priced groceries, covering over 50% of Dubai.
Immunity boosting, fresh foods have increased significantly in Dubai as the go-to breakfast, usurping energy drinks and bananas, in just one of many insights identified by the application.
Affectionately known as the breakfast of champions, energy drinks and bananas suited customers who were on-the-go, and needed something quickly ordered to work, or at home. However, with the residents of Dubai now having more time on their hands, they’ve chosen a healthier route when ordering from Daily by Talabat, with onions, tomatoes, milk and oranges, signalling a significant change.
Daily by Talabat has also seen a large growth surge in the baking category, with more customers ordering baking goods, and cooking at home. The insights show that Butter/margarine is up by 2400%, milk 1700%, and cocoa powder 3400% over the past month, meaning that when amateur chefs have forgotten something - a delivery is only 30 minutes away.
Ali Aldamanhori, Daily by Talabat’s UAE General Manager, believes that changing consumer behaviour during COVID-19 represents the different priorities of society during these unprecedented times.
‘I’d like to thank all the Daily by Talabat customers for staying safe and home; and using their smartphones to order their groceries. With free contactless delivery, groceries at affordable prices, and a delivery time of 30 minutes, ordering from Daily by Talabat is the smart, fast, and safe choice.’
‘Many people have a lot more time to spare at home currently, so it makes sense that they try their hand at being healthier, or becoming the next culinary wiz of the era. We’re pleased to be able to be there for our customers at short notice when they need those extra ingredients to make their dish amazing!’
‘Moreover, our data show that customers have pivoted a lot to safety as well, which comes as no surprise. Demand for masks, gloves and sanitisers have risen by 2000%, clearly signalling that safety still remains front and center for the community.’
Daily by Talabat is also continuing to evolve to the needs of its customers. Recently, there was a spike in ‘sim card’ order queries. To meet this demand, Daily by Talabat has partnered with Virgin Mobile to deliver SIM cards, within 30 minutes, ensuring that their customers keep on staying safe, and staying home.
Consumers can use Daily by Talabat by downloading the Talabat App from either the App Store or Google Play, and clicking ‘Grocery’.
