Commvault To Showcase Future Of Data Protection For Smart Cities At GITEX 2019

Commvault Global Chief Technology Officer and Vice President Brian Brockway will present the role of new data protection solutions for smart city developments in the region

Commvault, a recognized global leader in data management, will showcase the future of data protection, data analytics and storage for the development of smart cities at GITEX 2019.

Global Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and Vice President of Commvault, Brian Brockway will take part in a panel discussion on the transformation of cities in the fourth industrial revolution at GITEX. The session will assess how AI is expected to contribute in adding more than $50 trillion to the world economy by 2050. It will analyze the importance of driving trust, innovation, skills and profits while embracing the digital economy and creating a smarter and more connected society.

The panel session will take place on 07 October at Dubai World Trade Center.

Brockway will highlight new data protection, storage, analytics and backup solutions for smart cities, highlighting developments both within the region and globally.

Recent announcements on new Commvault solutions include Commvault Complete™ Backup and Recovery, which tightly integrates data protection for Nutanix Files 3.5. The recent introduction of Nutanix Files 3.5 offers an enterprise-grade, scale-out file storage solution leveraging the cloud-like flexibility of the Nutanix HCI architecture. As a result, customers can easily migrate into the Nutanix Files solution, backed by Commvault, to ensure time and resource savings, while delivering critical SLAs.

Brockway commented: “Data protection, analytics and back up will continue to play key roles in the development of smart cities both in the Middle East region and across the globe. Commvault is demonstrating new solutions both on premise and on cloud at this year’s GITEX, one of the most important regional technology events in the MENA region. We are looking forward to showcasing case studies and success stories of our customers that have implemented these solutions, as a result creating operational efficiencies and better use of the data available to them. GITEX will be an ideal opportunity to learn from key stakeholders in the industry and share best practices and expertise with both partners and customers.”

One key example of this type of implementation in the Middle East region includes Emirates Steel, which recently announced that it has deployed Commvault HyperScale to support its digitalization ambitions and safeguard its manufacturing operations. Commvault HyperScale and Commvault Complete Backup & Recovery protect 400 terabytes of data hosted across SAP systems, and including SQL databases, email archives and 20 virtual machines.

Commvault also recently announced a bold and innovative step forward in its partner-first strategy with a new, global partner program that makes it easier and more profitable to do business with Commvault.

Commvault operates across the Middle East region providing integrated solutions for data storage to customers in a range of areas, including Dubai Police, Dubai Municipality and Saudi Telecom Company (STC).
