Arab Summit Commends UAE's Space Initiatives
The Arab Leaders commended the UAE initiative to establish the Arab Group for Space Collaboration.
At the end of the 30th Arab summit in Tunis, the leaders lauded the UAE's role and contributions to developing pan-Arab cooperation in space sciences and technology that serves the Arab world progress in this field.
The Arab Group for Space Collaboration with an initial membership of 11 Arab nations will advance the developments in the Arab world’s space sector.
They also welcomed the initiative by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, for the development of an advanced satellite to monitor environmental and climate changes. Its first project will be a satellite that Arab scientists will jointly develop in the UAE.
The leaders underlined the need for empowering young Arab minds to embrace advanced sciences and technology.
