APM Terminals Hosts Live Webinar With Supply Chain Partners
Showcasing Bahrain's success in "maintaining resilient supply chains through crisis"
APM Terminals (APMT) today hosted a virtual gathering of GCC and international experts for a live webinar organised by FinMark Communications and held under the patronage of H.E. Engineer Kamal bin Ahmed Mohammed, Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications, Kingdom of Bahrain, to address “Maintaining Resilient Supply Chains Through Crisis”.
The session, which was opened by H.E. the Minister, examined how the Kingdom of Bahrain has continued to successfully maintain business continuity and uninterrupted supply chains throughout the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak despite the massive disruptions caused and felt around the world., H.E said, “The Coordination Committee, chaired by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander, First Deputy Prime Minister and the Government of Bahrain has implemented a comprehensive and effective plan in combating COVID 19, the evidence of which is the business continuity that we have witnessed across most industries. By remaining operational, we have worked to protect the business community while ensuring top safety standards. Although the global supply chain is indeed negatively impacted, Khalifa Bin Salman Port has been and continues to be open for business.”
Taking part on the virtual panel were supply chain partners in the Kingdom including: Ms. Susan Hunter, CEO of APMT, Mr. Ahmed Al Nemah, Chairman of Transportation and Logistics Committee of BCCI, Mr. Omar Nassef, Plant Director, Mondelez Bahrain Biscuits, Ms. Eman Ebrahim, General Manager - Supply Chain, Foulath Holding, Mr. Balaji Ardhanari, Chairman of Bahrain Shipping Agents Association and Mr. Ali Al Mudaifa, Director - Head of Manufacturing, Transportation & Logistics Business, EDB. The session was moderated by KPMG’s Munich based global supply chain expert, Dr. Christopher A. Hoeckel, Senior Manager, Value Chain Transformation.
Panelists shared insights and a first-hand account of the coordinated and swift actions taken on multiple fronts to safeguard the integrity of the supply chain and business continuity for Bahrain through this unprecedented global crisis. The session also saw speakers address the challenges faced, how actions taken during the crisis can be leveraged to build even more resilience as well as strategies to accelerate recovery.
