Zayed Future Energy Prize Sets A GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS Title
The Zayed Future Energy Prize has officially achieved a GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS title for the “Largest environmental sustainability lesson”, announced on January 10.
A total of 282 students from across the UAE took part in the sustainability-themed lesson at The Ritz-Carlton Abu Dhabi, presented by Illac Angelo Diaz, Executive Director of Liter of Light, the non-profit winner of the Zayed Future Energy Prize in 2015.
The 30-minute lecture highlighted how young people around the world can help to reduce energy poverty while also challenging them to devise solutions that will bring about a more sustainable future.
The gathering also saw the assembly of 2,400 solar lanterns, arranged to create a unique light installation in tribute to Sheikh Zayed, the UAE’s founding father, the centenary of whose birth is being celebrated across the UAE in 2018.
