UAE Named As One Of The Top Countries Buying Ornamental Stones From Brazil
The UAE has been named as one of the top countries buying ornamental stones from Brazil—joining the ranks of China, Italy and the US. Recent industry reports have also shown that stone exports from Brazil totaled over USD 1 billion in 2017–solidifying the country’s ranking as the world’s 4th major producer of natural stones. In line with this, preparations are now underway for the 47th edition of the International Exhibition of Marble and Granite, Vitoria Stone Fair l Marmomac Latin America, which is set to take place from February 12 to 15, 2019, in the city of Vitoria, Espírito Santo, in Brazil. Dubbed as the most important marble and granite fair of the Americas, the event is expected to see the participation of stone distributors, designers, architects and representatives from warehouses, large marble mills, mining and construction companies.
According to Milanez & Milaneze, organizers of the event, the exciting four-day fair will be throwing the spotlight on the newest trends in the international ornamental stones market—placing strong focus on timely and relevant industry-related topics like business, design, technology, the integration between the public and the processing of materials from raw form to final design through the applicability of natural stones in furniture, buildings and several applications.
The event is made more exciting by the fact that it is being held in Vitoria, Espirito Santo, a region widely known to be the most important industrial area for stones, which represents around 80 per cent of the exported stones from Brazil. To date, Brazil is internationally ranked as the 4th major producer of natural stones and has delivered seven per cent of the world’s total production.
Cecília Milaneze, Director, Milanez & Milaneze, expressed confidence in the continued success of the event. In fact, she pointed out that last year’s event received strong response–42 per cent of attendees were made up of CEOs, directors and managers while 30 per cent came from the construction, engineering, architecture and design segments.
Attendees at this year’s event will take part in various planned activities, including the possibility to visit the local mines via the ‘Buyers Club’ project, which will also promote a roundtable discussion between producers and international buyers. The discussions and meetings at the event will allow buyers from all over the world, including those from Dubai, to interact directly with the producer and proceed in its commercial relation without bureaucracy.
Tales Machado, President, Union of Ornamental Stones, Lime and Limestone Industries of the State (Sindirochas), shared that the event represents a strategic opportunity for the Brazilians to enter into strategic partnership agreements with foreign buyers–choosing the Vitória Stone Fair as the main access point to present their products and services to the global market.
The 47th edition of the International Exhibition of Marble and Granite, Vitoria Stone Fair l Marmomac Latin America is being organized by Milanez & Milaneze, a company of Grupo Veronafiere. The event is also being promoted by Sindirochas and the Technology Center of Marble and Granite (Cetemag).
