Philanthropist Firoz Merchant Of Pure Gold Jewellers Pledges AED 1 Million To Support Health Sector
Philanthropist Mr. Firoz Merchant met with His Excellency Humaid Al Qutami, Chairman of the Board and Director-General of the Dubai Health Authority in DHA, who from the outset heartily congratulated Philanthropist Mr. Merchant for his service to the community, and on becoming the first civilian, the first Indian, and the first expat to be honoured and recognised by HH Sheikh Saif Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister of UAE and Ministry of Interior with an award and a medal for his philanthropy.
HE Humaid Al Qutami and Mr. Merchant discussed various issues related to further servicing society and the importance of the health sector. Mr. Merchant pledged to provide financial aid to the needy regardless of nationality or religion, aiding in necessary treatment for those who can’t afford. His first donation of AED 500,000 will be followed by another donation in the coming year, totalling AED 1 million, and adding to an already extensive list of contributions throughout the UAE’s ‘Year of Giving.’

Philanthropist Firoz Merchant, established himself as an entrepreneur in the UAE back in 1989 after migrating from India, and has since grown Pure Gold Jewellers from one store in Dubai to over 150 across the Middle East and Asia.
