OSN Announces Jordanian Presenter Leen Al Halawani As Oscars Co-Host
OSN, the region’s leading entertainment network, has announced that 28-year-old Leen Al Halawani, a Jordanian radio presenter, has won its exclusive competition to co-host OSN’s red carpet coverage of the Oscars. Al Halawani will join media personality Kris Fade as he covers the Oscars, brought to the region on 10th February, exclusively by OSN.
As the official broadcaster of the Academy Awards, OSN has had a presence on the red carpet for the last five years. This year, however, they took things to the next level by giving aspiring presenters the chance to join Kris Fade on the red carpet to present all the action live from the show.
Al Halawani’s journey has been charted via OSN’s weekly ‘Live the Oscars’ show which showed her participating in a bootcamp phase that featured an elimination task to select the final three, then the training phase hosted by OSN experts as well as Kris. She was announced as the winner on Friday’s show, with the next episode covering her journey to LA and preparation ahead of the big night with the final episode featuring exclusive behind-the-scenes footage from the event itself as well as reactions from Al Halawani.
Emad Morcos, Chief Content Officer at OSN says, “OSN is all about bringing exclusive entertainment content to the region and we are proud to have been the home of the Oscars for the last five years. This year, we wanted to take it up a notch to get even closer to our customers and are delighted to bring Leen onboard as our exclusive coverage co-host. As a leading industry player, we are committed to nurturing and supporting local talent and building the wider talent pool. Make sure to tune in on the night to see Leen in action!”
Having worked across several TV and Radio shows in Jordan, Al Halawani won 2019 Radio Presenter of the Year at the Living Well Awards.
Al Halawani, “I’ve loved every minute of this experience with OSN and can’t thank them enough for the support their experts provided throughout the process. We’ve got a great show lined up and Kris and I will be bringing you all the backstage gossip so it’s sure to be a night to remember!”
