Noor Ali Al Noman, DeG, Awarded Titans Badge Of Honour And Named Best Government CIO
Noor Ali Al Noman, Director of the Department of e-Government in Sharjah, has been honoured with two awards for her outstanding digital achievements and unrivalled success as a Digital Leader at an the prestigious “Future IT Summit 2018”, held under the patronage and presence of the UAE Ministry of Economy, organised by GEC Media Group at Burj Al Arab on Wednesday 14 March.
The first award, The Titans Badge of Honor, recognised her efforts for leading Sharjah’s digital innovation sector and contributing to the region’s digital growth through her leading initiatives at DeG, including her conceptualisation and leadership during the full development of the Sharjah Land Game app.
As winner of the Catalysts 2018 ‘Best Government CIO’, Al Noman was commended on her “path-breaking contributions towards the regional IT landscape and long-standing experience as an IT leader”.
The awards build on Al Noman’s previous successes, including accolades from the Belgian Ambassador to the UAE for leading the team responsible for the Sharjah Land Game app. The game promotes the cultural and scientific values of the emirate, highlighting its landmarks through digital interaction, while combining education and entertainment to emphasise the emirate’s digital transformation.
Al Noman has overseen DeG’s implementation and integration of numerous digital solutions across various state entities using the most advanced technologies in cloud sharing of data and security.
Sheikh Khalid bin Ahmed Al Qasimi, Director General of DeG, said: “Noor Al Noman is not only a remarkable professional in the world of technology, innovation and leadership, she is a role model for empowering women, reinforcing the vision and beliefs of DeG that each and every member of the department has the right to equality, progression and recognition.”
The Director General of DeG added that Sharjah’s digital transformation and integration is one of the emirate’s key objectives for the future: “The advances that have been made so far have been a great credit to the entire department and Sharjah’s commitment to interacting with its residents in order to provide them with more effective and more efficient services has already made a great impact.”
