Muraba brings a touch of world-class Pritzker-winning Architecture to Dubai International Financial Centre
Muraba Properties, the developer behind Palm Jumeirah’s Muraba Residences, has commissioned the design of a striking glass pavilion in Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC), the leading international financial hub and destination for lifestyle, arts and culture. Reflecting the companies’ philosophy of creating extraordinary, singular spaces, the pavilion was conceptualised by RCR Arquitectes, Pritzker prize laureates and designers of Muraba Residences.
Nestled in the heart of DIFC’s Gate Village Courtyard, the installation consists of three ‘floating’ glass fins that were hand-crafted in the distinctive architectural style of Muraba Residences. Over the course of the installation – open for the public to experience until April 2018 – a series of three films will be screened on the remarkable glass surfaces, the first playing throughout February.
Created through a partnership with international filmmaker Massimiliano Siccardi, the trio of cinematic pieces are together entitled “The White Tear Planet” and become more and more artistic in nature as the project progresses. Siccardi and his team were inspired by their understanding of Muraba, with their interpretation stemming from the discovery of how light brings the building to life and has played such a crucial role in its inception and design.
