Middlesex University Dubai To Hold A Lecture On ‘The global Theme Park Industries: Emerging Geographies And Contemporary Practices’
Professor Salvador Anton Clavé from Rovira i Virgili University will be presenting a lecture on the global theme park industries on Monday, 4th of December 2017 from 5 pm to 6:30 pm at the Oasis Theatre, Knowledge Park Campus, Middlesex University Dubai.
Salvador Anton Clavé is a Full Professor of Regional Geographical Analysis at the Rovira i Virgili University, Spain. He is currently the Director of the Science and Technology Park for Tourism and Leisure. He also leads the Research Group on Territorial Analysis and Tourism Studies (GRATET). In addition to these, he has been a visiting researcher at the Universities of Exeter and Nottingham (UK), George Washington University and Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey (USA) and Université de Paris Est (FR).
Prof. Salvador research expertise is on the evolution of coastal tourist destinations, local and regional tourism planning, the development of leisure and theme parks and issues concerning tourism and local development from an evolutionary approach.
Among his most relevant major publications are his books entitled: The global theme park industry (CABI, 2007) and, more recently and in collaboration, Análisis territorial del turismo y planificación de destinos turísticos (Tirant lo Blanch, 2011), 10 Lessons on Tourism, The challenge of reinventing destinations (Planeta, 2012, ed), and Geographies of Tourism: Europan Research Perspectives (Emerald, 2013, co-ed with Julie Wilson).
