Lockheed Martin’s CEO Highlights ‘Partnerships With Purpose’ At Global Aerospace Summit
Collaborations that focus on shared opportunity, growth and progress are critical for global security, said the Chief Executive Officer of Lockheed Martin at the Global Aerospace Summit in Abu Dhabi today.
“Public-private partnerships are most effective and most transformative when they are focused on making a strong, long-term impact,” said Marillyn A. Hewson, Lockheed Martin Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer. “The UAE is an example for the world of what a nation can achieve when wise leaders put in place sound policies that enable long-term cooperation and investment in people and innovations.”
In her speech, Hewson referenced Lockheed Martin’s lessons learned through the company’s public-private partnerships in the UAE and around the world as drivers of economic growth, innovation and competitiveness.
Lockheed Martin has had a presence in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for four decades, providing the UAE government and commercial partners with advanced technology and expertise to expand their capabilities. The company also leverages its global innovation experience to partner locally and advance the UAE’s economic development goals and inspire the next generation of entrepreneurs and STEM talent.
More recently the company has supported a year-long program with the Mubadala Investment Company, the Unmanned Aerial Systems Payload Design Challenge, which brings university students together from across the UAE to design, develop and integrate payloads with commercial and industrial applications.
The Global Aerospace Summit is a Mubadala-backed event that gathered over 1000 global leader and executive attendees in a three-day program to discuss how the aviation, aerospace, space and defense industries are evolving in an increasingly digitized world.
