H.E. Sheikh Sultan bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan Inaugurates Abu Dhabi Initiatives For The UAE Innovation Month

H.E. Sheikh Sultan bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan, Member of the Executive Council, inaugurated the Month of Innovation being held in Abu Dhabi, and managed by the Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK). The event include a host of strategic initiatives, led by Innovator 2018, Abu Dhabi Science Festival, and participation from the governmental bodies in the Capital.  H.E. Dr. Mugheer Khamis Al Khaili, Chairman of the Department of Community Development and Member of the Executive Council, H.E. Dr. Yousef AlShaiba Alsheryani, ADEK’s Acting Under-Secretary, Eng. Sanad Humaid Ahmed, Deputy Chairman of the Innovation Committee at ADEK, a senior delegation of government officials and media representatives, attended the official inauguration.

The event is being held in line with H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai’s directives to extend the Innovation Week to Innovation Month, translating the leadership’s vision to spread a culture of innovation and embed it into the fabric of businesses and lifestyle, with the participation of governmental authorities.

His Excellency praised Abu Dhabi’s initiatives for the UAE Innovation Month which come in line with the UAE’s inspirational leadership to encourage innovation and creativity amongst its government institutions and the community. H.E. also commended the efforts of the young innovators who showcased their creativity and competitiveness worldwide in parallel with the nation’s journey towards establishing a knowledge-based economy.

H.E. confirmed that the UAE Innovation month has become one of the most important global initiatives supporting creativity and innovation, highlighting the key role it’s playing in reinforcing the UAE’s position on the global map; all these efforts in global indices will result to placing the UAE amongst the top ten countries in the Global Innovation Index, as we celebrate the golden jubilee of the Emirates Union, which comes in line with the UAE’s Vision.
