Global Newcomers Get A Taste For MENA Sweets And Snacks Industry At Yummex Middle East
yummex Middle East 2021, the MENA region’s leading confectionery event, provided a unique platform for global snack producers to break into the local market thanks to a dedicated newcomers zone at Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC).
The yummex Middle East Newcomer Areaoffered brands the opportunity to be part of the brand-new show feature and benefit from special rates on their own 12m² exhibition space, and a plethora of networking opportunities. The only pre-requisite to applying was no previous participation at the show.
After a thorough application and review process even brands, from India, Belarus, Hungary, Lithuania and Ukraine, and two from Poland, were selected to showcase their products in the inaugural Newcomer Area, which included a range of offerings from chocolate-centered cones to honey and strawberry desserts.
Pure Temptation, an Indianmanufacturerandexporter of chocolate-based products such as Choco Cone Snack, Cream Wafer Biscuits, Instant Drink Mix was optimistic about opportunities in the regional after a successful debut.
“We’ve been in the Indian market for two decades and we believe the MENA region is perfect for expansion. We are pleased to be a part of yummex Middle East 2021. We’ve interacted with numerous buyers, and we look forward to materialising deals post the exhibition,” said Rishikesh Gandhi, Executive Director, Pure Temptation.
MeanwhileVitba, from Belarus, which specialises in breakfast cereals, said: “We’re the industry leaders in Belarus and think yummex Middle East is a perfect way to expand our horizons into the Middle East. We’ve met potential distributors and are blown away with the attendance the exhibition has received,” said Julia Kirichenko, Head of Marketing for Vitba.
Daniel Szilard Vajda, Sales Manager for Chocoland Ltd, a Hungarian chocolate brand founded in 2007 that has evolved from distribution to manufacturing, praised the capability of Dubai to host major industry events.
“We believe Dubai has a big future in food manufacturing as it has a big presence in the MENA and,the influx of visitors we have received in the past three days, is proof that the country is a hub for high-scale events. We are grateful to yummex Middle East to have provided us with a platform of this size to kickoff our MENA expansion plans,” said Szilard.
Other brands that debuted at this year’s show are GOLSKI LT,from Lithuania; Really Incredible Foods (RIF), from Ukraine; and Terravita, and Uno Foods, from Poland.
Yummex Middle East will be rebranded in 2022 and will return next year from 8 – 10 November as ISM Middle East, modelled afterISM Cologne, the world’s leading trade fair for sweets and snack.
