First Sharjah Entrepreneurship Festival Opens A World Of Exciting Opportunities For The UAE’s Youth
The inaugural edition of the two-day Sharjah Entrepreneurship Festival (SEF) organised by the Sharjah Entrepreneurship Centre (Sheraa) to continue fuelling their efforts to empower young entrepreneurs in the UAE to establish successful businesses, got off to a successful start this morning (Tuesday) at the Sharjah Golf and Shooting Club in the presence of Sheikha Bodour bint Sultan Al Qasimi, Chairperson of the Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq), and Chairperson of Sheraa.
More than 1,500 people were in attendance, of which was a gathering of over 100 of the brightest minds from the region and beyond who came together to inspire the youth, engage start-ups, and recharge the entrepreneurial spirit of young minds at the festival.
The opening remarks were presented by Sheraa’s General Manager, Najla Al-Midfa, who refused to set the scene with depressing statistics, saying: “We all know the situation in our region, and our challenges. Today, we are all here to view them through the lens of opportunities. We must ensure that the lives of our future generations are better than the lives we lead today. As we usher in the fourth industrial revolution, we need to cultivate a new generation that has the ability to become innovative job creators, and who will build new businesses that will become the engines of economic growth and prosperity. To do this, we have to provide these entrepreneurs with an enabling environment that supports them.”
