Dubai International Academic City To Host Sports Festival To Celebrate Fitness And Healthy Living Amongst Youth
Dubai International Academic City (DIAC) will host the 2017 DIAC Sports Festival from 6 October to 25 November as part of its efforts to foster a greater sense of community within its vibrant ecosystem of over 25,000 students while promoting the adoption of a healthy lifestyle amongst youth.
Supported by Dubai Holding and Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC), the DIAC Sports Festival is an extension of the DIAC Sports Cup that has been conducted over the past few years by DIAC’s Student Hub team, a dedicated student centric team appointed by DIAC to manage student engagement and build a thriving student community in Dubai.
Speaking on the importance of celebrating fitness and community spirit, Mohammad Abdullah, Managing Director of Dubai International Academic City, said: “In addition to fostering academic excellence at DIAC, we also believe in ensuring extra-curricular growth. Sport has always been viewed as a way to stay healthy and in shape, but its importance goes much further than that. Participating in sports teaches life lessons like discipline, responsibility, self-confidence, accountability, and teamwork.”
