Dubai Drink Technology Expo Concludes Today

The three-day Dubai Drink Technology Expo (DDTE) concluded its activities today on a high note, proving to be an ultimate platform for showcasing innovations by experts in beverage production and packaging.

The annual exhibition is among the most important business events in the MENA region – an interactive opportunity to introduce new ideas, innovative technologies and comprehensive solutions in the beverage industry. Clearly, technology has become a pivotal part of this ever-growing industry. DDTE 2018 manifested how governments and communities strive to enhance sustainability through the employment of technology.

On the topic of ‘sustainability and recycling’, Johan van Zuylen and Danbappa Muhammad explained the actions taken in Dubai, “In an effort to divert waste from going to the landfill, Dubai Municipality has recently announced a major change with regards to waste disposal fees to be implemented in May 2018 (drastic increase of “tipping fees”). This increase will affect everyone, and any manufacturing company in Dubai should, therefore, look into recycling options to reduce the amount of waste sent to the landfill and to keep waste disposal costs low.”
