Dr. Thani Al Zeyoudi Opens Dubai WoodShow
His Excellency Dr. Thani bin Ahmed AlZeyoudi, UAE Minister of State for Foreign Trade, inaugurated the Dubai International Wood and Woodworking Machinery TradeShow, which starts today at the Dubai World Trade Centre with over 400 exhibitors from more than 60 countries and representatives of government agencies participating in the event.
His Excellency stressed that the Dubai WoodShow across all editions, reflects the distinguished position of the UAE as a global center for business growth and progress as well as a preferred destination for international events and exhibitions.
He noted that the exhibition’s continuous existence not only confirms its success in achieving its objectives but also the competence of Dubai and the UAE as a whole in terms of hosting professionals from all over the world as they gather together for the benefit of their respective business communities.
His Excellency also said the Dubai WoodShowis beneficial to the commercial sector, which seeks to provide the best products to consumers, through the exhibition’s competitive features and activities along with the favorable opportunities it gives to its large number of visitors, manufacturers, and suppliers coming from different parts of the world.
For his part, Dubai International Wood and Woodworking Machinery Exhibition Organizing Committee Chairman Dawood Al Shezawi explained that the exhibition will enable all its participants to learn more about the latest trends, technologies, products, and services that are being offered by both regional and international wood and woodworking machinery brands present in the event.
“The exhibition constitutes an exceptional platform for makers and workers in the wood and furniture sector, as it promotes the most innovative products, technologies, production scenarios, and large-scale machineries the industry has to offer, which in turn enhances business partnership and investment opportunities, and the growth of the local economy in general,” Al Shezawi said, adding that the international participants represented 75% of the total participants from other countries including the US, France, China, Turkey, Russia, Germany, Italy, and Portugal as well as Egypt, the exhibition’s “country of honor” for the second year in a row. It is expected that the exhibition will witness a large turnout of visitors reaching as much as 10,000 throughout its three-day run.
His Excellency, accompanied by a number of officials, toured the exhibition, viewed the pavilions of some exhibiting companies, and spoke with their representatives about their most prominent products, investment opportunities, and various experiences in the wood market.
Dubai WoodShow, the only dedicated trade platform specialized in the wood sector in the MENA region, will host different activities comprising of a main conference, B2B meetings/matchmakings, seminars, networking sessions, and the announcement of winners of the WoodShow Innovation & Excellence Awards, which will recognize and promote the outstanding innovations, craftsmanship and achievements in the wood and woodworking machinery sectors as well as to encourage positive competition among the players in the industry.
Dubai WoodShow, taking place at Za’abeel Halls 4, 5, and 6, will be open daily starting today until Thursday, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
