Day Six Of ADIHEX Concludes After An Action-Packed Agenda Of Shows, Workshops And Exhibits
Day six of ADIHEX has concluded at the ADNEC Centre Abu Dhabi after another vibrant session of shows, exhibits and learning sessions for thousands of visitors.
Taking place under the esteemed patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in Al Dhafra Region and Chairman of the Emirates Falconers’ Club, the 21st edition of the globally renowned exhibition is being organised by ADNEC Group in strategic partnership with the Emirates Falconers’ Club at ADNEC Centre Abu Dhabi.
ADIHEX’s sixth day featured further shows highlighting the rich tapestry of Emirati cultural traditions and heritage along with a range of innovative, forward-looking features that offered new products, engaged visitors of all ages, and showcased adventure and outdoor lifestyles.
The highlight of the day was ADIHEX’s largest ever auction of purebred camels. The auction included a display of young male and female camels descended from the finest breeds and bred to be elite competitors in camel races. To ensure the transmission of this heritage sport from generation to generation, the preservation of purebred breeds is led by the Advanced Scientific Group, which organized the auction in cooperation with the Emirates Falconers Club.
Reflecting the popularity of purebred Arabian camel races in the UAE and the Gulf Cooperation Council, this exciting event attracted hundreds of bidders from across the region. To help the large audience in attendance, detailed information on each auctioned camel was shared with an emphasis on ancestry and parentage in determining the value of each animal.
Today’s Main Arena highlights included “Archery with a traditional bow and arrow on horseback” showcasing the ancient and skilful art of horseback archery through demonstrations and an interactive workshop. The “Knights of Oman” provided another grand cultural display that celebrated equestrian skill, traditional arts, and historical reenactments.
The Dhabian Equestrian Club returned with its “Pony Riding Experience” to offer a family-friendly activity designed to introduce children and beginners to the joys of horseback riding under the tutelage of experienced instructors.Visitors were also thrilled by another display of “Vaulting with Dhabian Equestrian Club”, a dynamic show that presents the unique and artistic equestrian discipline of horseback vaulting by daring and skilled riders.
At the ADIHEX Knowledge Hub,a talk by Dr. Zubair Medammal on “Rehabilitation of Falcons in the Wild and its Significance in Global Conservation” highlighted the importance of maintaining wild bird population levels through targeted scientific interventions. Visitors to the Hub with an interest in equestrianism were able to learn about “The qualities and attributes of Moroccan Berber horse in all sporting and artistic uses” though a presentation given by Mouhib Raouf.
A charming session led by Emaan Danish Khan on “Kids & their Climate”featured school children displaying their art for the planet. With the children enthusiastically participating, the art on display took various forms including drawings, paintings and photography. Reflecting the importance of horses as an integral part of the UAE’s culture and heritage, the Emirates Arabian Horses Society hosted a fascinating session on “Digital Transformation in Equestrian Industry” that outlined the potential for innovation and technology to transform animal breeding and care.
The Earth Warrioz returned to the Hub with a panel discussion on “The Importance of Interactive Climate Education”. Featuring research presentations by NYU Abu Dhabi, the session featured in-depth and insightful discussions on climate impacts in the Arabian Guld region.
