Day Five Of ADIHEX Concludes After An Action-Packed Agenda Of Shows, Workshops And Exhibits

Day five of ADIHEX has closed after another exciting and action-packed day drew thousands of visitors to shows and exhibits at the ADNEC Centre Abu Dhabi.

Taking place under the esteemed patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in Al Dhafra Region and Chairman of the Emirates Falconers’ Club, the 21st edition of the globally renowned exhibition is being organised by ADNEC Group in strategic partnership with the Emirates Falconers’ Club at ADNEC Centre Abu Dhabi.

ADIHEX’s fifth day offered more unforgettable exhibits and experiences that entertained visitors of all ages at today’s programme of events. Featuring a lineup of extraordinary performances, a range of displays celebrated many aspects of the skill, history, heritage that characterises the longstanding bond that humankind has had with animals through the ages.

In the Main Arena, the highlight of the day was the exclusive Falcon Beauty Contest. With some of the world’s finest categories including Gyr-Saker and Peregrine falcons, exhibitors from across the globe presented their prized falcons in a spectacular parade before a distinguished panel of judges. Based on attributes such as physical condition and beauty, the judges nominated the champion from a stellar array of birds prior to the awards of trophies and prize money.

Today’s visitors to ADIHEX also had the opportunity to witness the spectacular “All with People of Determination” AWPOD Yola team, who provided a breathtaking traditional Yola performance with seamlessly blended dance moves and rhythm. This display was an outstanding success in celebrating the beauty and artistry of Emirati traditions while offering a unique chance for visitors to witness the unlimited spirit and talent of People of Determination.

Adults and children were delighted once again by colourful and entertaining parrots showcased by the Al Ain Zoo Pop-up Bird Show. The show delivered an entertaining and educational event that highlighted the birds’ intelligence while also highlighting their fascinating behaviour, astounding vocal abilities, and aptitude for performing a wide range of tricks.

Also courtesy of Al Ain Zoo, the popular Falconry Workshop provided an absorbing interactive and educational activity that gave the many visitors in attendance the chance to learn all about the fascinating world of Falconry. The numerous adults and children attending this workshop learned key information about majestic birds of prey and Falconers’ specialized tools.

At today’s ADIHEX Knowledge Hub, sessions were held on Storytelling for kids and Emirati Etiquette. A delighted audience of children were entertained by spellbinding tales, while the etiquette session explored the cultural norms and good manners that form an important part of Emirati traditions. Through the expertise and talent featured at these insightful sessions, visitors and residents were able to learn much more about the rich heritage of the UAE and the region.

In addition to these enlightening sessions, another aspect of Emirati culture was on show at an Art Workshop led Sheikha Yousef Al Naqbi and Khadija Saeed Al Kindi. The workshop offered a superb interactive experience that demonstrated the fantastic creative talent that thrives in the UAE while also educating visitors on a wide range of artistic techniques and skills.

Presented by Qaydi Farms and Nurseries, a session on Al Ghaf seedlings with explanations of how to sustainably grow Al Ghaf trees drew a fascinated audience eager to learn more about the local natural environment. The Ghaf is a drought-tolerant tree that can remain green even in harsh desert environments. As an essential part of the ecosystem that supports the survival of other animal and plant species, the tree is the national tree of the UAE. This iconic status reflects the Ghaf’s historic and cultural role as a symbol of stability and peace in the desert environment.
