ChoirFest Middle East To Return For 2018 With 1,900 Students Taking Part
ChoirFest Middle East, the annual Dubai festival which celebrates the rich diversity of choral music will return from 26th February – 17th March. This year, ChoirFest have a staggering 1,900 students from 50 schools taking part in the competition, making it the biggest choral competition in the region.

Celebrating their 25th year, the award-winning quartet ‘The Idea of North’ is widely recognised for their distinct sound and style, as well as their incredible ability to cross multiple genres: jazz, folk, gospel, pop, classical and comedy. With twelve albums in the catalogue, a significant international fan base, the Idea of North continue to produce many award-winning recordings. Their 2010 release, a collaboration with jazz great James Morrison, won the 2010 ARIA award “Australian Recording Industry Association” for ‘Best Jazz Album’ followed by the 2013 ARIA award also for ‘Best Jazz Album’. They are best seen live to appreciate their passion for music and ability to connect with their audience. As James Morrison so aptly puts it; “A cappella is sometimes thought of as being minimalist, but when you can sing and entertain like The Idea of North, a band would just get in the way“.
