Audi Volkswagen Middle East Supports The Dubai Corporation For Ambulance Services In Their Efforts To Prevent The Spread Of Covid-19
Audi Volkswagen Middle East has provided several cars to the Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services (DCAS) in a bid to support the organization’s heroic efforts in preventing the spread of Covid-19. The fleet of vehicles from both brands is currently being used to transport critical equipment, medical supplies and meals to team workers and their families living in the UAE.
Following the launch of the ‘Day for Dubai’ app in March by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council, volunteers were given the opportunity to show support for their community in various ways. With a clear need for additional transport across the country as the requirement for deliveries increased following social distancing protocols and restrictions on travel, Audi Volkswagen Middle East has stepped in to help by providing vehicles.
The DCAS team has been working tirelessly on the front line each day since the global pandemic begun and now, with additional vehicle power which includes the Touareg, Teramont, Tiguan and Passat from Volkswagen, as well as the Q3, Q5 and Q8 from Audi, the organization is able to transport vital equipment, critical medical supplies and even meals to workers on the ground, meaning the use of Ambulances can be reserved for essential operations.
The Executive Director of the Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services, Khalifa Al-Drai, said: “This is a great example of a company standing side by side to support the safety and wellbeing of fellow members of society. Indeed, the true spirit of the UAE and its people is evident during these exceptional times. These difficult situations cannot compromise the determination that everyone in the UAE holds and it’s vital that everyone follows official direction from our authorities who selflessly strive to provide the highest levels of security, health and safety for us all.”
Jan Bures, Managing Director of Audi Volkswagen Middle East, said: “It is crucial during times of real adversity, that we come together to face challenges collectively and that is exactly what the launch of ‘Day For Dubai’ has allowed us to do. We feel extremely proud to be providing a fleet of cars to the DCAS, assisting them with delivering food and medical supplies without having to use their own ambulances, ensuring these are reserved for crucial, frontline jobs only. We have witnessed such great initiatives taking place all over the country, and what is clear is that by coming together, we will get through these challenging times, and come through the other side once more.”
