ATDD’s Successful Participation At ATM Ended On A High Note
Ajman Tourism Development Department (ATDD) concluded its participation at the Arabian Travel Market (ATM) in Dubai World Trade Centre on Wednesday, strengthening Ajman’s position as a preferred destination for regional and international tourists. One of the region’s most important tourism and travel exhibitions, ATM attracted thousands of visitors from April 28th to May 1st.
During the four-day exhibition, ATDD representatives met with major travel trade professionals, investors and businesspeople to promote Ajman’s newest retail, hospitality and tourism offerings, including the Modama Award – which will promote sustainability in the tourism industry – Marsa Ajman, and the upcoming Heritage District. They also introduced major investment projects that the Department has developed in order to attract increasing numbers of tourists. ATDD generated considerable interest among both travel and tourism professionals and fellow exhibitors.
HE Saleh Mohamed Al Geziry, Director General of ATDD, said, “Over the past decade, tourism in this region has developed at a truly remarkable pace; an increasing number of tourists are discovering our emirate and its year-round sunshine, stunning beaches and rich heritage. With its pristine coastline, mangrove forests and mountain villages, Ajman offers something for everyone; it is an integrated destination for investment and tourism. We highlighted the emirate’s abundance of exciting, family-friendly hospitality options and activities, and held more than 60 very productive meetings at ATM 2019.”
In addition to ATDD, Ajman’s delegation at ATM 2019 included Ajman Municipality and Planning Department; Ajman Hotel; Ajman Beach Hotel; Ajman Saray, a Luxury Collection Resort; Bahi Ajman Palace Hotel; Elite Travel & Tourism; Ewan Tower Hotel Apartments; Fairmont Ajman; Marsa Properties; Musandam Sea Adventure Travel & Tourism; Radisson Blu Hotel Ajman; Salamtk Medical Travel; The Oberoi Beach Resort, Al Zorah; TrAvZed; Wyndham Garden Ajman Corniche; Voyage Tours; and Ajman Business Women Council.
The Department welcomed visiting dignitaries at its booth. His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation; HE Sultan Al Mansouri, the Minister of Economy; Sheikh Abdul Aziz bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, ATDD Chairman; Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of Ajman Municipality and Planning Department; and were briefed about ATDD’s new tourism and leisure projects and initiatives.
A first-time participant at ATM, Ajman Business Women Council’s focus was the Refouf initiative, which aims to encourage Council members to promote their products at a mini-outlet in order to support the growth and development of women’s business investments. Marsa Properties promoted its new project; a residential and hotel complex that will be implemented in several stages, the complex will be a distinctive landmark and a tourist attraction for Ajman and the UAE.
His Excellency, the Director General of ATDD, explained that the enthusiastic response of ATM 2019’s visitors reinforced ATDD’s commitment to developing innovative initiatives. He added that the Department will continue to participate in travel exhibitions and trade shows in order to boost the tourism sector’s contribution to GDP in line with Ajman Vision 2021.
In the upcoming period, ATDD plans to diversify its programs, develop recreational activities, events and leisure and tourism initiatives that are suitable for people of different ages and nationalities, and provide exclusive tourism services in order to attract more visitors.
