Arabic Flavours & Culture Take Over London’s Famous Park Lane
Arab flavours and culture are making a big impression on the dining and nightlife scene in London this summer, and exclusive members club, The Park Lane Club, is the epicentre of activities.
In addition to launching a host of popular Middle-Eastern themed nights throughout the summer to satisfy its ever-increasing clientele from the region,a Middle Eastern chef is making waves on the ultra-competitive London culinary scene after bringing Arabic flavours to the famous Park Lane.
Roky Afram, who is Iraqi, is now at the Ruby Lounge restaurant in the heart of the city – and has been winning great reviews for his range of mezze and signature grills.
This summer he is introducing a range of new dishes and hopes to raise the bar when it comes to Middle Eastern food in London.
They include a mezze which covers classic small Kuwait and Iraqi dishes which he started his 23 year career cooking at kitchens in both cities.
The Ruby Lounge is located at Park Lane Club and is open for dinner from 7.30pm. The themed nights running throughout the summer include an Arabic night, a Persian night and a Moroccan night, with guests treated to an array of Middle Eastern food, dancers, henna artists and live music.
Roky said: “The dishes have been really well received so far and there is a great appetite for modern Middle East food in London.
“There is a solid foundation of Iraqi flavours and I am also strongly influenced by Kuwaiti cuisine as I have a strong connection there. But there are elements throughout the menu covering the Middle East – from the UAE and Saudi Arabia and beyond.”
