Arab Youth Center Holds Youth Circle In Collaboration With OECD
The Arab Youth Center organised a youth circle titled “Innovative Solutions of Mainstreaming Youth Engagement in Government” on day one of the 6th World Government Summit, taking place in Dubai on February 11-13, 2018.
The circle featured His Excellency Angel Gurría, Secretary-General of the Organisation of Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), who outlined strategies to empower Arab youth to work with their governments, improve services and set plans for a better future for the young generations.
Moderated by Tina Hočevar, Board Member at the European Youth Forum, the circle explored innovative methods that can be utilised to build a system that prioritises people when creating public services and policies, and to better engage the youth in public life, where their achievements help build comprehensive and flexible economies around the world.
The workshop was attended by the Young Arab Pioneers, who took part in the workshops to explore ways for young people to cooperate with their governments, launch programmes and initiatives, and find innovative solutions to enhance their participation in policy-setting and public services.
Her Excellency Shamma bint Suhail Al Mazrui, Minister of State for Youth Affairs, said: “With its pertinent topics, today’s youth circle reflects the UAE leadership’s vision to unite efforts and foster a wider exchange of knowledge and expertise to empower Arab youth and invest in their potential to build a bright and sustainable future for their societies.”
