EPAA Prepares To Organize Sir Bu Nair Festival On May 17 And 18
The Environment and Protected Areas Authority in Sharjah (EPAA) announced the completion of its extensive preparations for organizing the twenty-fourth edition of the annual Sir Bu Nair Festival, during May 17 and 18, with distinguished participation from several government sector institutions in Sharjah.
Government Attendance and Supportive Sponsorship
The festival is organized by the EPAA, with the participation of the Sharjah Police General Command, Sharjah Media Council, Sharjah Government Media Bureau, Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority, Sharjah Broadcasting Authority, Sharjah Sports Council, in addition to Sharjah International Marine Sports Club. Several government and private entities provide support and sponsorship for this annual festival to ensure its optimal success, represented by Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority, Sharjah Coop, Sharjah Driving Institute and Zulal Water.
Enhancing Environmental and Tourism Efforts
In this context, Her Excellency Hana Saif Al Suwaidi, Chairperson of the Environment and Protected Areas Authority, stressed the importance of cooperation between community institutions, individuals, and the integration of capabilities and plans to enhance environmental and tourism efforts undertaken by the Emirate of Sharjah, noting that the continuation of the festival to perform its educational and awareness message reflects the priority of environmental protection and biodiversity within Sharjah’s agenda and aspirations towards the environment and its various components, as well as the conservation of marine and environmental heritage.
Her Excellency Hana Saif Al Suwaidi expressed her gratitude to all government entities participating in organizing the festival’s activities and agenda and appreciated the role of sponsoring and supporting entities for the event.
A collection of events, activities, and competitions in sports and maritime heritage
The festival will witness the organization of a variety of activities and events, including sports competitions, tourist tours, training workshops, and heritage sessions, in addition to an accompanying exhibition and the presence of food trucks throughout Sir Bu Nair Island, and honoring the participating entities and institutions.
