A World Of Exceptional Beauty Uncovered As Saudi International Luxury Week Opens Its Doors In Riyadh
Saudi International Luxury Week was abuzz with excitement when it opened to discerning watch and jewellery enthusiasts in Riyadh on 5th May. Running until 9th May at the Mandarin Oriental Al Faisaliah, Saudi International Luxury Week (SILW) is the only rendezvous of its kind in the Kingdom, a meeting point for exchange between some of the world’s most coveted brands and accomplished designers, retailers, and aficionados.
Following on from a hugely successful edition in Jeddah the week before, visitors to SILW in the capital can enjoy an even more impressive showcase of limited-edition timepieces and extraordinary jewels. From the timeless high jewellery pieces and bespoke bridal sets on display, to the handcrafted watches, innovative fine jewellery, and array of rare pearls and gemstones, all pieces are available for purchase.
Fabergé is presenting its debut creations from the Fabergé x 007 capsule collection, announced in 2022 and launched just weeks ago. The hand-crafted Fabergé x 007 Limited Edition Octopussy Egg Objet (50 numbered pieces) and Fabergé x 007 Special Edition Octopussy Egg Surprise Locket make their Middle East debut at SILW. The very first Fabergé x 007 Egg Objet took seven months to be created, with the piece brought to life by the hands of 12 specialists working across nine individual crafts.
Another highlight of the show is Franck Muller’s new Carbone Damascus Skeleton, the latest masterpiece from its renowned Vanguard™ collection. The timepiece is made entirely of compressed carbon, a material prized for its exceptional properties and commonly used in cutting-edge engineering industries such as aeronautics. With its pioneering case design and open-worked movement, the Vanguard™Carbone Damascus Skeleton is destined to captivate enthusiasts of advanced technology and high-end watchmaking.
One of the world’s leading pearl specialists Yoko London will display its new Sahara masterpiece, a stunning testament to the brand’s goal to “redefine pearls”. A tribute to the allure of the desert, perfectly encapsulating grace and sophistication, the necklace, earrings and ring
set features the finest Australian South Sea and Japanese Akoya pearls, and shimmering diamonds set in 18k gold.
Taking centre stage at watchmaker Charles Oudin’s booth is the colourful and bold Pansy Retro. The timepiece’s square case is set with brilliant-cut diamonds and presented on a vibrant satin strap animated with a pair of sliding Butterfly jewellery elements. Born in Palais-Royal, the heart of luxury and fashion in Paris, Charles Oudin is one of the oldest horology maisons in France; its rich heritage, continuity in style, and savoir-faire in decorative timepieces make it a jewel of watchmaking.
Also showcased is House of Gol’s stunning new Paris High Jewellery set – a bespoke masterpiece which also stars in the SILW campaign with Egyptian actress Enjy Kiwan. Crafted from platinum and gold, the necklace, earrings and ring epitomises the American diamond artisan’s extraordinary mastery, featuring 365 diamonds and oval fancy intense yellow diamonds totaling over 150 carats, and valued at US$ 4 million.
Endless other creations can be discovered at Saudi International Luxury Week, with over 100 acclaimed international designers, heritage brands, avant-garde artisans and local talents coming together in a unique showcase of creativity and extravagance.
