The Hotel Show Dubai continued at great pace on day two with industry leaders, from around the region, gathering to share expertise and innovations on a wide range of topics from across the sector.

From the importance of women in the industry to the growing role of technology, the series of conferences, networking and workshops were attended by thousands, across the course of the day, at Dubai’s World Trade Centre.

The diverse program of events reflect the continued importance of the region’s largest and leading hospitality event, in bringing together experts and innovators in the field, at a time of industry recovery in the wake of the pandemic.

Among the top list of speakers is Issam Kazim, CEO of Dubai Economy and Tourism, who addressed the General Managers’ Briefing Session. Other discussions led by a series of experts include Women Leaders in Hospitality & Tourism, The Future of Hospitality and how to train, retain and offer career opportunities to regional talent.

The Hospitality, Lifestyle, Wellness & Spa Forum is the newest addition to the event’s lineup of conferences, with experts providing a market overview of wellness in the hospitality sector. With the Leisure Show, part of the Hotel Show Dubai, buyers from across the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) had access to a range of global suppliers of leisure products and services. Glampitect, the only specialist Glamping Site Designer in the Middle East, exhibited this year and made significant sales. “Within the first two days of the trade show, we were able to generate more leads than anticipated.  In the coming year, we will showcase two pods and a larger space to display our glamping facilities. The leads we have generated are high-quality and target a group of potential clients we are interested in working with. The Hotel Show is one of the events we are looking forward to returning to next year.” says Calum Macleod, Group CEO of Glampitect.

With technology playing a key part of the industry’s future, HITEC, produced by international Hospitality Financial and Technology Professionals association (HFTP) has fast become the Middle East’s premier hospitality technology conference and highlights the latest in hospitality technology information and services.

Entrepreneur 20X returned for the second consecutive year to HITEC Dubai at The Hotel Show. The region’s ten most innovative hospitality technology startups competed for the Judge’s Choice cash prize of $2,500 before a panel of industry experts and angel investors at HITEC. AI Bookings, appeti.me, eTip.io, S-Rate, SequelString, Simplifynance, Teamatix, Turpal, Zoomvenues and Daher Hospitality Group were among the 10 participating startups.

Kohler, a major player in the global kitchen and bathroom market, announced the winner of the Kohler Bold Design Challenge at the Hospitality Leadership Forum. A design competition for design enthusiasts, Celeste Ventura, Senior Interior Designer from RSP, was selected as one of the winners for her imaginative and creative redesign of a faucet. Middle Eastern designers were asked to redesign a faucet from their artistic perspective. “The Kohler Bold Design Challenge was purposefully introduced this year to solicit creativity and inspiration of faucet design from leading firms across the region. Embracing the future whilst respecting the heritage and rich tapestry of the Middle East. Our deserved winner this year, Celeste Ventura of RSP we believe has incorporated elements both natural and extraordinary to create a beautiful faucet in all facets of function, form and finish. We congratulate her and the RSP team and are thankful for their contribution to the Kohler Bold Design Challenge 2022” said Alan Orchard, Commercial Director – Middle East & SSA at Kohler Co.

The Housekeepers Challenge winners were announced after three teams in the region went head-to-head for the fun challenge to honour the industry’s unsung heroes. The housekeeping team from Park Hyatt Abu Dhabi took the crow, and participating teams included Atlantis The Palm Dubai, Le Royal Meridien Beach Resort and Spa, Dubai and Rixos Premium Saadiyat, plus many more.

The hospitality industry wouldnt survive without our housekeeping teams who work tirelessly round the clock. Recognising them is a vital part of the show, considering the very tough circumstances they have to work in, especially during the pandemic, when their roles were more important than ever,” said Tatjana Ahmed – Director of Housekeeping Grand Hyatt Dubai.

Across the event, there has been a diverse range of conferences and seminars and features offering visitors education, in-depth analysis and inter-industry debates, helping to drive the industry forward.
