Canon Middle East Promotes Arabic On ‘International Mother Language Day’ 2018

Canon Middle East (CME), a leader in imaging solutions,is launching a series of language classes for its employees in celebration of International Mother Language Day (IMLD)and a continuation of its pledge to support the nation-wide Bil Arabi initiative. The classes will include a series of Arabic language sessionssince it is the region’s mother tongue, and getting more acquainted with Arabic is an important aspect of living and working in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Held annually on 21 Februaryfor nearly 20 years, International Mother Language Day was announced by UNESCO to promote linguistic and cultural diversity as well as multilingualism. By extension, Canon also seeks to engage its employees to bridge cultural differences and gain a deeper understanding of the Arabic language and give them the opportunity to start understanding and speaking it by enrolling in the classes.
