Her Royal Highness Princess Lamia Al Saud To Deliver The Keynote Speech At The GOV HR Summit 2020, The Regions’ Premier Public Sector HR Platform
The Organizing Committee of the GOV HR Summit set to take place as a hybrid event on October 25th in Dubai has announced that Her Royal Highness Princess Lamia bint Majed Saud Al Saud, Secretary General of Alwaleed Philanthropies, will deliver the keynote speech at the 8th edition of the Summit.
Hosted under the theme of “From Reaction to Response, From Rethinking to Reinventing, From Rebooting to Returning Transformed”, the summit this year will take place at the Intercontinental Dubai Festival City, UAE, with all the required safety & social distancing measures in place & as directed by UAE government authorities as well as shared virtually.
One of the key pillars of discussion for 2020 agenda of GOV HR Summit is on empowering women and youth, HRH Princess Lamia’s session will highlight key areas communities need to focus on to empower women and support inter-generational change. HRH Princess Lamia’s work is guided by Alwaleed Philanthropies vision to contribute to a world of tolerance, acceptance, equality and opportunity for all. In doing so, HRH Princess Lamia has immense experience in empowering women and youth, supporting the development of communities, providing disaster relief, and bridging cultural bridges.
Commenting on how we can elevate the role of women and youth in bringing about the much-required change and for a world post the crisis, HRH Princess Lamia bint Majed Saud Al Saud, said: “The emergence of Covid-19 has disproportionately disadvantaged women and youth as they suffer from the ravages of declining employment opportunities and socio-economic inequalities. A great deal must be done to build back a more equitable and balanced society.
For a start, global efforts must promote the involvement of women and youth in decision-making, and instill inclusivity in strategic responses and long-term planning. Governance models must also allocate resources for strengthening hyperlocal economies, skilling and reskilling of women and youth and nurturing sustainable grassroots development within global value chains. Together, such efforts can act as catalyst for real inter-societal change.”
In lines with the economic vision of the region that calls for a shift to a diversified and a knowledge-based economy, the GOV HR Summit creates a regional platform that aims to discuss the growing trends of on adapting to the new normal, share insights on the deeper challenges faced by the people management sector with out of the box solutions and initiatives through real-life case studies.
