Hamriyah Free Zone To Take Part In Gulfood 2020
The Hamriyah Free Zone Authority (HFZA) announced today it will be taking part in the 25th edition of Gulfood 2020, the world’s largest annual food and beverage trade exhibition.
During the five-day event scheduled to take place at Dubai World Trade Centre from February 16 to 20, HFZA will have a strong presence with a full-fledged pavilion, bringing together some of the top companies operating in food and beverage industry at Hamriyah Free Zone.
The authority stressed that its involvement in the event aims to highlight HFZA’s competitive advantages, services, infrastructure, and investment solutions as well as its facilities, which made it one of the most sought after business hub by prominent food and beverage companies in the world.
It will also introduce the international business community to the promising investment opportunities available in Sharjah’s food and beverage industry and will shed light on its mega project “Sharjah Food Park”, which was launched in 2017 as the region’s first and largest city dedicated to food & commercial industries,
Annual platform
HE Saud Salim Al Mazrouei, Director of the Hamriyah Free Zone Authority, said: “Gulfood provides a perfect opportunity to more than 5,000 exhibitors from the world’s leading food and beverage companies to showcase their products. We would like to take advantage of this annual platform to interact with decision makers, pioneers and regional and international investors looking forward to making the most of Sharjah’s investment opportunities in the food industry, which is one of the key pillars of Emirate’s economic diversification strategy”.
Food Park
“We, at Hamriyah Free Zone, pay utmost attention to providing investment incentives and developing state-of-the-art infrastructure and legislations that support the aspirations of leading brands in the food and beverage industry to strengthen their presence in the region’s markets. Our efforts have yielded good results, making HFZA an incubator to major food and beverage companies through a 380,000 square metre Food, Plastics and Packaging Park that effectively meet the needs of companies involved in consumer goods” added Al Mazrouei.
“We have also developed Sharjah Food Park, which comprises of different sizes of offices, warehouses with built-in offices, utility and facilities; plots of land starting from 2,500 square meters onwards; in addition to licenses and activities related to the food industry; and labour accommodation on a total area of over 11 million square feet” he further said.
$ 196 billion
Al Mazrouei pointed out that the food and beverage sector in the GCC will continue to grow at a rate of 7.1% annually to reach $ 196 billion by 2021 compared to the current rate of $ 130 billion, adding that HFZA will spare no efforts to support this growth by providing all kinds of facilities and unparalleled services.
