Jordan Tourism Board Partners With Wego To Promote Local Tourism Experiences And Drive Visitor Growth
Wego, the largest online travel marketplace in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), has entered into a partnership with Jordan Tourism Board to expand its reach and attract more visitors to Jordan from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Kuwait.
Around three and a half million searches to Jordan have been conducted on Wego’s platform by MENA users in the first half of 2019. 32% of travelers booked their holidays within 7 days or less, 23% booked almost two months in advance, 17% booked between a month and above and the remaining 28% booked between 8 to 29 days.
Saudi and Kuwait markets are major feeder markets for Jordan tourism. Petra has recently been visited by countless numbers of tourists from the GCC and the rest of the world, marking 2019 to be the best year in terms of the number of tourists to the ancient city.
