The Dubai International Art Centre hosts, “Seasons of Change” an empowering Art Exhibition by the residents of Dubai Foundation for Women and Children’s Shelter. DFWAC is the first licensed non-profit shelter in the UAE for women and children victims of domestic violence, child abuse, and human trafficking. There will be close to 30 Artworks on display and sale at the Art Exhibition; all funds raised at the show will go to the Foundation to further empower and support the women & children who reside at DFWAC. The show’s guest of honour is the celebrated local Artist Ms. Fatma Lootah – the show opens to public from 6th till the 16th of September at Gallery 76.
This event is an initiative of a passionate change maker – Fiona Petrocelli; Fiona’s innate desire to help people has prompted her to be involved in several charities, including working with senior citizens in the UK, “Street Children” in Kuala Lumpur & Special needs children in Dubai. Fiona also serves as a volunteer board member at the Dubai International Art Centre since 2014 where she has actively formed collaborations between the Art Centre and local charities. Fiona Petrocelli explains what attracted her to work with DFWAC, “With all the glitz and glamour that seems to always be promoted about Dubai, it is organizations like the foundation that are weaving the moral fabric of this diverse expatriate and growing community and tackling what are the taboo issues that exist not only here but all over the world”
